MSC Air Cargo makes Hong Kong debut with Hactl as service partner

MSC Air Cargo has chosen Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (Hactl) to handle cargo services for its recently launched flights to Hong Kong.

The airline initially began operating Boeing 777 freighter flights from its Milan Malpensa hub to Hong Kong in July under its AlisCargo Airlines subsidiary but has since rebranded to MSC Air Cargo.

The route will see three weekly flights into Hong Kong.

In addition, MSC Air Cargo has been operating flights to Hong Kong since December 2022 through a crewing, maintenance, and insurance (CMI) partnership with Atlas Air.

Jannie Davel, senior vice president of MSC Air Cargo, said: “We are excited about the potential for our newly-expanded Hong Kong operation, and are very pleased to extend the successful historic collaboration between Hactl and ourselves. Their extensive facilities for freighter operators and their clear focus on service quality will provide us with a strong base from which to grow our business.”

Joanna Li, Hactl‘s executive director of commercial and business development, said: “We are delighted to welcome back an old friend under its new name, and with its greatly increased capacity. We wish the new MSC Air venture every success and look forward to playing a key role in its successful development in the Asia market.”
