Global aircraft leasing company, BOC Aviation Limited, has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s flag carrier, for five Boeing 737-8s.
The new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2026 and 2027, set to expand Arajet’s 10 aircraft fleet that is based out of Punta Cana in Santo Domingo.
Currently, the ultra low-cost airline operates direct flights to 24 cities across 16 countries in the Central, South, and North American regions, but is working to expand its reach.
Victor Pacheco, founder and chief executive of Arajet, said: “We value our partnership with BOC Aviation as we continue to consolidate our fleet and our footprint in the region.”
BOC Aviation, which has leased and managed its fleet to 92 airlines in 48 countries worldwide, will continue to grow its expansive client list with this new deal.
“We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Arajet with this latest transaction, as it develops its fleet and route network,” said Steven Townend, chief executive and managing director of BOC Aviation.
