American Airlines Cargo has unveiled its winter widebody schedule for the 2024/2025 season, featuring new routes and increased service.
Out of Latin America, the airline is launching a new seasonal route from Rio de Janeiro’s Galeão International Airport (GIG) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) with a Boeing 787-8, plus its daily service to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) will be expanded.
The airline is also enhancing its operations from its Miami International Airport (MIA) hub, increasing service from São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and Buenos Aires Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) to as many as three flights daily.
Overall, the airline is adding nearly 200 roundtrip widebody departures from Latin America compared to last winter.
Across the Pacific, the airline is launching its inaugural service from Brisbane Airport (BNE) to DFW, which will be the longest non-stop flight in its network. Also new this season is the service from Tokyo-Haneda Airport (HND) to JFK, following a successful summer introduction. Both routes will operate with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Additionally, there will be increased frequencies, including daily service from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to DFW for the full winter period and an earlier start for the Auckland International Airport (AKL) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) route beginning in early December.
Overall, the Pacific routes will see more than 150 additional roundtrip widebody flights compared to the previous winter season.
American’s Trans-Atlantic network remains robust as the winter season approaches. From Barcelona, the airline will offer daily service to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) throughout the season. Moreover, the airline will continue to operate more widebody departures from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) than any other US airline.
Roger Samways, vice president of commercial for American Airlines Cargo, said: “We look forward to entering this winter season with a robust global widebody network to support our customers, including some new routes and increased frequencies. In particular, we are excited about connecting DFW and GIG with new, non-stop service and expanding our reach across the Pacific to BNE.
“This winter schedule enables us to further connect freight across five continents as we focus on maximising our network to meet the global needs of the industry.”
