AMAC demonstrates widebody capacity with simultaneous B747 maintenance

MRO provider AMAC Aerospace has marked a major operational milestone by simultaneously performing maintenance on five Boeing 747 aircraft at its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

The feat highlights the MRO provider’s robust widebody capabilities and underscores the scale and efficiency of its Swiss facility, which features 33,130 sqm of hangar space across five hangars, a 64,610 sqm apron area, and 6,704 sqm dedicated to workshops and offices.

According to the company, this achievement reflects AMAC Aerospace’s capacity to deliver high-volume, high-quality maintenance, completion, and refurbishment services for widebody aircraft. By accommodating multiple large aircraft at once, AMAC Aerospace offers customers faster response and turnaround times, along with enhanced scheduling flexibility.

The operation also reinforces AMAC Aerospace’s ‘one-stop-shop’ approach, supported by in-house workshops and a highly skilled team of technicians and engineers – designed to streamline the MRO process and maximise efficiency for clients.

Kadri Muhiddin, group executive chairman and chief executive at AMAC Aerospace, said: “At AMAC we are extremely proud to have had this unique opportunity. It show cases to the world that we aspire to be the preferred MRO/completion centre to a great many aircraft owners/operators.”
