Tata Consultancy Services opens AI delivery centre in Toulouse to drive sustainable solutions

Tata Consultancy Services has opened a new IT services delivery centre in Toulouse that will develop new AI solutions for the aerospace sector.

The Indian technology, consulting and business solutions giant, said the facility will specialise in AI-driven transformation and foster innovation to improve aircraft design, manufacturing, and maintenance processes for European clients.

It aims to “harness next-generation technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, machine learning, and data analytics to help customers in aerospace and related industries such as manufacturing and defence”.

Areas the centre expects to make a difference in include enhancing fuel efficiency, developing advanced materials for lighter aircraft structures, and implementing predictive maintenance to minimise downtime, improve safety, and redefine the passenger experience of the future.

This centre has been strategically located in Blagnac near Toulouse Airport to be closer to customers in the aerospace industry. It is TCS’ fourth delivery center in France after Lille, Poitiers, and Paris-Suresnes.

Anupam Singhal, president – manufacturing at TCS, said: “This new center embodies TCS’ commitment to driving future-ready manufacturing within the aerospace industry.

“By harnessing the power of AI and our deep domain expertise, we aim to achieve new heights of efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

“Together, we are not just shaping the future of aircraft production but enabling future-ready skies.”

TCS has had a presence in France for the past 30 years. It supports CAC 40 companies and large enterprises in their digital transformation journeys.

The firm said it has ramped up investments in the country in the past few years and plans to double its workforce in the region.

Recently, the company launched a “cutting-edge” innovation hub TCS Pace Port in Paris, which it described as a “reflection of its long-term commitment to fostering economic growth in the region”.

TCS has pursued a ‘glocal’ approach – combining local engagement with global capabilities – to replicate the success of its existing delivery hubs in Lille, Poitiers, and the Paris region.

Rammohan Gourneni, TCS country head for France, said, “Our ‘glocal’ model, combining proximity with key industrial players and cutting-edge international expertise, is a real asset.

“This new center of excellence, a real catalyst for growth for our long-term strategy in France, brings together the best local talent and mobilises the entire international know-how of our group to offer sharp advice and flawless project execution to aerospace players.

“More than an expertise center, it is an engine of opportunities for engineers in the region, offering them dynamic and stimulating career prospects in an international environment.

“We aim to significantly invest in technologies, partnerships, and local talent to contribute to the development of an excellent aerospace industry, here in France.”
