MRO Europe: TARMAC Aerosave expands aircraft services in Teruel with IAC partnership

TARMAC Aerosave has signed a strategic partnership with aircraft painting company, International Aerospace Coatings (IAC), enhancing its service offerings at its Teruel site.

This collaboration enables TARMAC Aerosave to provide a full range of aircraft transition and painting services, further strengthening its position in the aerospace sector.

Under the agreement, IAC will paint aircraft at its newly constructed, dedicated painting hangar in Teruel. TARMAC Aerosave, certified as a Part 145 maintenance organisation, will extend this certification to IAC’s paint operations and conduct maintenance for IAC clients on-site.

This partnership offers lessors and airlines a comprehensive one-stop-shop for aircraft transitions, with services including parking, engine changes, landing gear replacements, cabin modifications, bridging checks, C-checks, and painting – all in one location.

Since IAC began operations in Teruel in October 2023, over 20 aircraft have been painted and maintained, highlighting the collaborative strengths of both organisations. This new agreement cements TARMAC Aerosave and IAC’s commitment to delivering high-quality services and expertise in the aerospace sector.

José Moliner, TARMAC Aerosave’s Teruel site director, said: “TARMAC Aerosave, always working with the best partners, continues to expand its capabilities to offer complete solutions to its global clients and to increase the potential of the Teruel site.”

Martin O’Connell, chief executive of IAC,  said: “Our collaboration is proving beneficial for both parties, further strengthening Teruel’s position as an attraction location to support our customers’ requirements. The ongoing investment and expansion at Teruel Airport signals promising prospects for the continued growth and partnership between TARMAC Aerosave and International Aerospace Coatings for years to come.”

The announcement was made during Aviation Week’s MRO Europe 2024 event in Barcelona.
