Legal challenge for Luton Airport expansion plan

The Luton And District Association for the Control of Aircraft Noise (LADACAN)group has initiated legal proceedings to challenge the decision. It is seeking a judicial review to have the planning decision quashed.

Transport Secretary Hedi Alexander granted the development consent order (DCO) last month. This was despite a six-month inquiry by a team of National Planning Inspectors who recommended against the proposed development due to what it deemed to be environmental harms.
