Iberia Maintenance recently showcased its full capability to overhaul and repair Pratt & Whitney GTF engines during a visit from Rob Griffiths, senior vice president of commercial engines operations at Pratt & Whitney, to its La Muñoza facilities in Madrid.
Enrique Robledo, director of Iberia Maintenance, and Eylo González Merino, director of engines, led the visit, highlighting the company’s advanced technical and operational expertise.
The Pratt & Whitney GTF engine, known for its fuel efficiency, is a key powerplant for short-haul fleets in the coming decades, and Iberia Maintenance is fully prepared to support its maintenance needs.
This visit reinforces Iberia Maintenance‘s position as a leading aeronautical maintenance centre in southern Europe and strengthens its collaboration with Pratt & Whitney.
Robledo said: “It is a great opportunity to show Pratt & Whitney leaders first-hand our facilities of more than 220,000 sqm dedicated to aeronautical maintenance and, in particular, how the GTF has been successfully introduced in our engine shop.
“This meeting reinforces our mutual trust and our position in the region for the maintenance of these engines. This milestone not only reflects our commitment to technical excellence, but also to innovation and sustainability, fundamental pillars of the aeronautical industry of the future.”
