China-based cargo airline, SF Airlines, has awarded a contract to aircraft engineering and MRO services provider, HAECO, to provide C-checks for its Boeing 747 freighter fleet.
The checks are set to be carried out at HAECO’s maintenance facilities in Hong Kong and the agreement also secures future hangar slots to support SF Airlines’ operations.
HAECO Hong Kong has been executing C-checks for SF Airlines’ fleet of four widebody Boeing 747-400F freighters since September 2024.
The latest partnership outlines three Boeing 747 base maintenance inputs in 2025, along with long-term hangar slot reservations for 10 Boeing 747 inputs from 2026 to 2030.
Gerald Steinhoff, chief commercial officer at HAECO, said: “Our partnership with SF Airlines is a testament to our commitment to the Chinese Mainland market. We recognise the growing demand for reliable maintenance solutions in this region and are dedicated to supporting our customers with tailored services that enhance their operational capabilities.”
Li Gang, vice president of maintenance at SF Airlines, said: “The 747-400 freighter has played a pivotal role in the development of SF Airlines. Since its first operation in 2018, the 747-400 has become the mainstay of our route operations. Therefore, we attach great importance to finding an MRO with advanced technology and reliable quality for the 747-400 freighter fleet.
