HAECO lands first PALEX deal and expands PAL 777 MRO services

Aircraft engineering and MRO services provider HAECO has signed a new agreement with PAL Express (PALEX) to provide base maintenance services for its Airbus A320 and A321 narrowbody fleet, while also expanding its collaboration with the PAL Group to include Boeing 777 base maintenance for Philippine Airlines (PAL).

Starting in 2025, the maintenance work for PALEX’s narrowbody aircraft, which includes up to D-checks, will be carried out at HAECO’s facility at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.

HAECO’s partnership with the PAL Group began in 1999 and has included the redelivery of more than 44 aircraft, with the Boeing 777 comprising the majority.

The expanded agreement builds on recent collaboration for base maintenance services on PAL’s Airbus A321 aircraft, underscoring the PAL Group’s confidence in HAECO’s expertise and reliability.

Gerald Steinhoff, chief commercial officer of HAECO, said: “As PAL’s base maintenance provider in Xiamen for over two decades, HAECO has consistently delivered exceptional reliability and flexibility in turnaround times, reinforcing the strong foundation of trust we have built with our customer.”

Rabbi Vincent Ang, PALEX president, said: “We look forward to this new partnership with HAECO, in enhancing the maintenance of our Airbus A320/A321 fleet which is the backbone of our domestic flights. We expect that this partnership will uphold the overall reliability of our fleet and at the same time help deliver a more positive experience to our passengers.”
