FL Technics has begun providing fleet maintenance services for UAE-based airline Fly Vaayu, further expanding its presence in the Middle East.
The partnership covers Fly Vaayu’s A320P2F – a rare passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion aircraft, featuring a containerised belly compartment for faster cargo handling and advanced engine technology.
With only a handful of A320P2F aircraft worldwide – and just one currently operating in the Middle East – this collaboration marks a significant milestone.
By the end of 2025, the number of these aircraft in the region is expected to grow to four.
Under the agreement, FL Technics will provide full-time onboard engineering support at Fly Vaayu’s destinations, ensuring seamless operations and flexibility to meet customer demands.
In addition to line maintenance, FL Technics engineers will assist with aircraft de-registration and re-registration processes, streamlining certification and regulatory compliance.
This partnership aligns with FL Technics’ ongoing regional expansion. The company recently launched a new line maintenance station at Dubai World Central (DWC)/Al Maktoum International Airport, reinforcing its position as a key aviation maintenance provider in the UAE.
Arif Alameri, managing director of FL Technics, said: “The expansion in the Middle East is a strategic move by FL Technics that demonstrates the importance of the Middle East as a growing aviation hub. Our aim is to gain recognition as a leading MRO provider here and to offer a wider range of services to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Fly Vaayu is a very important new client for FL Technics LLC, and we will be able to provide them with faster and more efficient maintenance solutions.”
