‘Everything is changing’: EBACE set for overhaul says EBAA’s Krahmer

Following last year’s announcement that the NBAA (National Business Aviation Assoc.) has split from the EBAA (European Business Aviation Assoc.) with regards to organising the annual EBACE private aviation show, Holger Krahmer, Secretary General at EBAA European Business Aviation Association has spoken out on the future of the event.

“The future of EBACE is a pure European event, everything is changing,” he said. “We as EBAA are starting a new and evolving process to start a new show”.

Speaking at the Corporate Jet Investor event earlier this month, Holger stressed the in his view, a split from the joint venture partner represented an opportunity for the Geneva show.

“Now that NBAA are out, it is also a big chance for us to make changes and to provide more Europe-focussed ideas than the U.S based people”, he told delegates at the event.

“We quickly decided that we wouldn’t let the show die, it must be ongoing because we see there is a need in the industry for workshops and for market intelligence B2B exchange,” added Krahmer.

The trade show has been held since 2001 with the NBAA being involved for most of the time. Originally conceived as an event where prospective customers could look at new aircraft, a market shift amongst airframers to take their demonstration fleet to potential customers meant that the focus has been on industry discussions between OEMs, suppliers and customers.
