DIGITRIPS unveils ‘game-changing’ flight price protection tool

French travel technology group, DIGITRIPS, has announced the launch of its price freeze tool, FREEZE, which allows travellers to lock in a flight fare for up to a year before a trip, and enables customers to confirm or decline up to 10 days before departure.

Carlos Da Silva, co-founder of DIGITRIPS, said of the new product: “Airfare prices are constantly fluctuating, making it difficult for travellers to know the right moment to book. With FREEZE, we’re removing that uncertainty by allowing them to lock in a great fare and decide later, without the risk of price increases.”

Da Silva added: “This game-changing feature is a testament to our commitment to bringing greater flexibility and peace of mind to travellers, redefining the flight booking experience.”

DIGITRIPS previously launched an online travel booking platform called MisterFly, tailored to B2B and B2C clients. Its data shows that booking a ticket six months in advance can save travellers between 30% and 50% compared to booking 10 days before departure.

In the coming months, the company will offer the new price protection solution to all e-commerce platforms using its flight distribution solutions, whether white-label or under the MisterFly brand.

The DIGITRIPS portfolio features more than 500 airlines, over a million accommodations, package deals, and car rental services, facilitating travel for over seven million customers since it was established in 2015.

The announcement is expected to solidify the company’s position as a leader in technology for the online travel sector, delivering innovative solutions to improve the booking experience.
