Denver-based Frontier Airlines has announced the second phase of its move away from it’s low-cost business model.
Known as the ‘New Frontier’, the plan will offer complimentary seat upgrades for loyalty members and above on every flight, as well as the option to loyalty miles for ancillary expenses, such as baggage.

However, the most interesting part of the business ‘transformation’ is the introduction of First Class. New seating, described as ‘luxurious and spacious’ in the first two rows of the aircraft will be available from late 2025. There’s no word yet on who the supplier of the seating will be, or what other services will be offered as part of a ‘First Class’ proposition. However, we do know that Frontier has been working with Recaro for the economy seating refits in a programme that will last until 2027.
“Travelers should expect more from their airline and, in 2025, Frontier will deliver as we continue our transformation into the most rewarding airline in the sky,” said Barry Biffle, CEO, Frontier Airlines. “We’ve listened to customers, and they want more – more premium options, like first class seating, attainable seat upgrades, more free travel for their companions, and the ability to use miles on more than just airfare. These changes represent an exciting new chapter in our transformation into The New Frontier.”
